| An Oklahoma basketball player stabbed at a Norman nightclub has been released from the hospital and is expected to make a full recovery, Sooners coach Jeff Capel said Thursday. Freshman guard Ray Willis was released from hospital care on Wednesday. "He sustained multiple wounds, one of which resulted in a partially collapsed lung," Capel said. |

| Twin freshmen Markieff and Marcus Morris have been cleared by the NCAA Eligibility Center to enroll in classes at Kansas and join the defending NCAA champion Jayhawks. Classes at Kansas began Aug. 21. With the certification of their academic eligibility, the two 18-year-old recruits from Philadelphia were preparing to enroll and begin classes Friday. |

| Rutgers seniors Jaron Griffin and JR Inman were suspended indefinitely on Friday for breaking team rules. Scarlet Knights coach Fred Hill said the two will continue to participate in team activities, including practices. Griffin started all 31 games last season, averaging 7.5 points and 3.2 rebounds. Inman started 28 games, averaging team highs of 12.2 points and 32.8 minutes. |

| Winthrop center Andy Buechert is out for the season because of a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. Eagles coach Randy Peele said Friday the 6-foot-9 player from Germany will have surgery next week. He was injured while playing a pickup game last month. Buechert started two of the 32 games he played in last season. |

| It's a slam dunk for the Horizon League. The conference announced all 10 of its members will play in the annual ESPNU BracketBusters on Feb. 20-21. Pairings will be set Feb. 2. Loyola of Chicago, Valparaiso, Wright State, Youngstown State, Wisconsin-Milwaukee and Illinois-Chicago will host games, while Butler, Cleveland State, Detroit and Wisconsin-Green Bay will play on the road. |

Lawrence can practice with the Pirates this season, but cannot play in games until the 2009-10 season. "Keon is an incredible recruit for us," coach Bobby Gonzalez said Tuesday. "He has a huge name in the state of New Jersey and he's coming back home to Newark. |
